MMARS ACTIVITY EVENT 2010

The objective of this event is to encourage the use of CW on the underused 30m band. Limitations are in place to try and give everybody a good chance of winning.

Two prizes are offered:

- the first entrant to contact 40 countries and three continents

- the entrant with the most points at the end of the event. Each country scores one point and each continent scores five points.

Entrants must be members of MMARS on 30/11/10.

4.             Entries

To be received by me no later than 10/12/10.

A brief statement of what you have worked, equipment used along with your score and its make-up. Claims for the 40 country/3 continent prize must show the date and time of the last qualifying QSO.

5.    Clarifications:

a)             Class II aerials. The following is an indicative but not exhaustive list.

OK: dipoles, G5RV, loops of any type, bits of wire, Butternut, vertical quarter wave.

NOT OK: yagis, four squares, rhombics.

b)           You can mix and match, for example some QSOs can be made with 25 W and a Class II aerial, the others can be made using 50 W and a Class I aerial. You are not restricted to using one type of aerial within a class.

c)             You can use different QTHs, eg portable sites.

d)             An entrant can win both prizes. It is not necessary to make 40 countries/3 continents to win the highest points scored prize.
