THE MMARS ANNUAL DF FOX HUNT

The Meet was scheduled for Friday 18th June and the usual devotees entered the event - Alan G7TVH as winner last year representing the fox and accompanied by his wife managed to escape the "hounds" for a while but was eventually located in Holwell village by Jim G4DZL who was in hot pursuit as were Howard G6KQP, John G4YSP and Jerry G4CAZ. The quarry and pack adjourned to "The Sugar Loaf" at Ab Kettleby for refreshments and Howard presented the Richard Wander (G4RPS) Memorial Trophy to the winner.

MMARS ANNUAL CONSTRUCTION CONTEST 2010
The 11 members attending this event on 21st May were disappointed to see only 1 entry this year so the winner by a walkover was Gerald G3MCK with what can only be described as 'a sig. genny in a baccy tin' albeit that belies the skill he demonstrates by his design and construction - accordingly he was presented with the G6KQP Trophy by the donor himself, Howard G6KQP (left of picture).

There is a FIND US PAGE on this website and a PDF replica available for downloading from our E-Library in connection with Meetings and events of MMARS.

Amateur Radio Societies affiliated to the RSGB (and we are one such) can now set up and maintain free websites under the RSGB banner. The service was made available on 25th August 2006 and of course we are already prominently displayed there. See our brief description (and its link to this site) at: www.radioclubs.net The most recent RSGB monthly newsletter for Affiliated Clubs and Societies is available from our E-Library.

The Society's E-Library has now been added to by PDF format copies of its actual published 'Programme of Events' from inception (1958) to the present day.
The full set (covering a total of 50 years) offers an insight into not only MMARS but Amateur Radio in general - we can see by reading them, for example the advent of SSB, the modern state-of-the-art circuitry, and through to digi-comms and the integration of computers into the hobby, amateur communication via the Internet (EchoLink, VOIP and IRLP) and indeed the progress from "gestetner" produced sheets through to modern desktop publishing!
Members and others alike may care to collect the total complement and use them freely, provided due acknowledgment of origin is given.
Also included in the library is the list of all MMARS SILENT KEYS since the Society was formed.
